It's hard to believe, but Pool of Light has been around for five years already. Five years of searching, experimenting, and expanding horizons. When I started it in the late spring of 2017, I wanted to create sounds which nobody was creating for me, sounds that I could be alone with. Drone music was a long-awaited way for me to go, but as I progressed with records, I started to incorporate many new things, such as Chinese folk instruments, electronics, cassette tape manipulations and so on. I'm glad that this search is still going on and this compilation could be the best way to draw a line for me as a musician and as a person.
This compilation is not only a checkpoint in my music journey, but it also serves one important purpose - to be a guide for new listeners. Over the years, the project released quite a few LP's and EP's, both digital and on cassettes, so new listeners may be a bit overwhelmed when trying to choose tracks to listen to. These tracks include my favorite Pool of Light highlights for the past 5 years, songs that I’m proud of, songs I would never achieve without the support of fellow artists, labels, and fans. As always, listeners are free to interpret the titles themselves. Thank you. Anton.

2 & 4 are killer! It’s all amazing, these two just speak to me personally. Subtle repetitions washing over you, imperceptible changes chipping away at your consciousness, until you realize you’ve been wrapped in aural silk.

During the final days of writing my thesis I listened to this album on repeat for hours at a time. It was like being suspended in one eternal moment while all that changed around me were the ripples and eddies of a slowly meandering river.
